The school accepts Kindergarten enrolments the beginning of the year prior to school entry and encourages families to submit applications to enrol by 1 August.

Applications must be submitted in person with original documentation. See Enrolling in our school for detailed information about proof of address requirements and to check if you reside within our catchment.

Children are eligible to enrol in Kindergarten if they turn five years old by 31 July and must commence school in the year they turn 6. This includes December birthdays. Your early childhood centre will provide you with advice about school readiness and you are also welcome to discuss your child’s readiness for school with us. Please contact the Principal.

Cecil Hills Public School offers a comprehensive transition to school program which includes parent information sessions and student orientation sessions. Kindergarten Orientation and transition days are held each year in Term 4. This allows the new students to become familiar with the school prior to their first day of school. Parents and new Kindergarten students are invited to attend Cecil Hills Public School’s orientation. While children are becoming familiar with the school environment through classroom activities, we will be running workshops for parents. These workshops are aimed at providing parents and carers with valuable information to support families in this extremely important transition. Please see four calendar for dates this year.

Anyone visiting the school must visit the front office our friendly office staff will assist with any enquiries. This includes parents who are bringing their children to school late or picking them up early.

School starts at 8:50 am. All students arriving after 8:55 am are to go straight to the office to be signed in late.

All early leavers must be signed out of the office prior to being collected. A message will be phoned to the classroom and the student will be brought to the office.  If you are unable to collect your child and send another person, they must have a letter of authority and show appropriate identification before your child will be released. Please respect that our staff have your child’s safety in mind when they refuse your request without a note.

The school needs to be aware of any medical conditions that affect its students prior to enrolment or immediately following any change. This includes asthma, anaphylaxis and other allergies. A health care plan for students with serious or life threatening conditions that require management at the school level must be developed by the child's doctor. Any student falling ill at school will be taken to the sick bay, next to the office. You will be contacted to take your child home if they present as ill or injured at school. If your child requires medication on a short term basis (eg flu, infections) please discuss with your doctor a medication plan that does not require medication to be taken at school. If this is unavoidable you must report to the office with the medication in its original packaging with dosage instructions clearly printed on the label.

Please notify the school office if your child is sick or complete the online absense form. A doctor’s certificate is also required for longer absences or when the school requests one.
